Music Sales' Grammy Winners

Three of our very own composers were honored at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards this January. Ten-time Grammy winner André Previn was presented with the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award; fellow recipients this year included Leonard Cohen and Michael Jackson. Recording Academy President/CEO Neil Portnow said of this year’s honorees, "Their outstanding accomplishments and passion for their craft have created a timeless legacy that has positively affected multiple generations, and will continue to influence generations to come.” The Grammy for Best Small Ensemble Performance was awarded to Yale School of Music faculty composer and alumnus David Lang’s The Little Match Girl Passion in a Harmonia Mundi recording by Ars Nova Copenhagen & Theatre Of Voices, conducted by Paul Hillier. The Grammy for Producer of the Year, Classical went to Steven Epstein whose releases this past year included internationally-acclaimed and Academy Award-winning composer John Corigliano’s A Dylan Thomas Trilogy.
