Music Sales Acquires the Carl Sigman Catalog

Music Sales Corporation has acquired publishing rights to the Major Songs catalog of noted Twentieth Century lyricist/composer Carl Sigman. Sigman, an inaugural member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, died in 2000 at the age of 91 having enjoyed a six-decade career during which he wrote some 800 songs. His songs were recorded by such artists as Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, the Righteous Brothers and Frank Sinatra (who recorded nearly 20 Sigman compositions).
Highlights include classic standards “Where Do I Begin (Love Story Theme),” "It's All in the Game," "Enjoy Yourself," "Pennsylvania 6-5000," "What Now My Love," “Buona Sera,” “Arrivederci Roma,” "Crazy He Calls Me" and “A Day in the Life of a Fool.”
Bob Russell’s catalog was recently acquired by Music Sales, which means that a number of Russell-Sigman standards, including “Crazy He Calls Me,” “Ballerina” (a/k/a “Dance Ballerina Dance”) and “Come In Out Of The Rain,” are now under the same roof for the first time.
The Sigman catalog has enjoyed some diverse recent covers such as the Pussycat Dolls’ version of “Right Now,” Barry Manilow’s “It’s All In The Game,” Rod Stewart’s “Crazy She Calls Me,” Renee Fleming’s “Answer Me, My Love,” Regis Philbin with Steve Tyrell’s “It’s A Marshmallow World,” and Bobby Bare’s “It’s All In The Game” and “My Heart Cries For You.”
