And the Oscar Goes To...

We are always proud when our music enhances the movie-making process, and this year’s roster of Oscar-nominated films featured a well-rounded selection of Music Sales music. “You Always Hurt the One You Love” drove a pivotal scene in Blue Valentine. The Social Network spotlighted “West Coast Poplock.” Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ “O Children” was used to great effect in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One. “Scooby Doo Where Are You?” made its way into 127 Hours and Iron Man 2 featured the Tupac classic “California Love.” The music of Pulitzer Prize-winning composer John Adams drove Io Sono L'Amore (I Am Love) via “Harmonielehre Part III,” “The Chairman Dances,” “Shaker Loops,” “Harmonielehre Part II,” and “Harmonium Part II.” And to wrap it up, three of our songs – “Who’s Been Polishing the Sun?,” “I Love You Truly” and “Shout for Happiness” played a part in the Best Picture winner, The King’s Speech.
