Carl Sigman, an inaugural member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, died in 2000 at the age of 91 having enjoyed a six-decade career during which he wrote some 800 songs. His songs were recorded by such artists as Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, the Righteous Brothers and Frank Sinatra (who recorded nearly 20 Sigman compositions).
