All Killer No Filler - Quiet Riot

Quiet Riot – the first heavy metal group to rocket to the top of the US pop charts – claimed the #1 slot seemingly out of the blue with their 1983 monster hit album Metal Health. The record, with its cover featuring the band’s “metal mascot” complete with metal facial mask and straightjacket, was an unprecedented multiplatinum success. High rotation on both radio and MTV guaranteed singles “(Bang Your Head) Metal Health” and “Cum on Feel the Noize” a place in 80s pop history, a hard rock triumph indeed. The Los Angeles band’s lineup featured a revolving roster of musicians over the years, and the many attempts to recreate the metal magic of ’83 came to an end with the death of lead singer Kevin DuBrow in 2007.
