All Killer No Filler - Eric Clapton

Ever since the infamous “Clapton is God” graffiti began appearing on walls throughout London in the 60s, Eric Clapton has been regarded by many as one of the greatest guitar players in rock and roll history.   The authorities seem to agree – Clapton was awarded a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire), and he has the singular honor of having been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times, as a member of both the Yardbirds and legendary supergroup Cream and as a solo artist.  Clapton’s stints with various outfits such as John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers, Blind Faith, and Delaney & Bonnie & Friends all preceded his foray into solo work; his 1970 eponymous debut album featured the early Clapton classic “Let It Rain.”  Hot on heels of his first solo effort, he formed Derek and the Dominos and recorded the seminal blues-rock album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.  The following decades have seen the guitar hero go from strength to strength in his songwriting and solo career.
