Edward Mahoney was following in his NYPD father’s footsteps until he decided to ditch the police academy and jump on a plane to California to pursue his rock ‘n roll dreams. Armed with a distinctive voice and strong songwriting chops, he soon commanded the attention of famed promoter Bill Graham and secured a record deal with Columbia. His 1977 eponymous debut album scored two hit singles, “Baby Hold On” and “Two Tickets to Paradise.” The rocker rolled with the punches with the birth of the MTV era, delivering classic early 80s videos for two more enduring Money hits, “Shakin’” and “Think I’m in Love.” The father of five has remained consistently active on the music scene, touring to this day to sell-out crowds.
