Doo-Wop

One of the most distinctive of all American pop idioms, Doo-Wop grew out of New York and Philadelphia’s a capella groups of the 1940s and 1950s. Using vocal fills like ”doo-wop” and “sh-boom” instead of instruments, they created a timeless vocal style that gave birth to commercially successful groups like the Penguins, the Solitaires, the Supremes, the Earls, the Capris, and many more.
Here is the very cream of the original, authentic doo-wop before it was absorbed by mainstream pop. This sampler is chock full of hits, such as “Earth Angel,” “Remember Then,” “Walking Along,” and “There’s a Moon Out Tonight.” What’s more, the Music Sales Group owns both the songs and masters for all of these outstanding tracks, so licensing has never been easier.
